Supporting our community in challenging times

Open for business

Community Wheels remains open to support the community in these challenging times. Our transport services for medical and doctors’ appointments, allied health services, shopping, hairdressers and to visit loved ones are still open.

Our social outings are back and we take all precautions to keep everyone safe onboard.

Thorough cleaning of vehicles

All our vehicles and equipment including steering wheels, door handles, seat belts, handrails, wheelchairs and hoists are cleaned multiple times in a day and wiped down thoroughly with disinfectants. Driving staff takes extra precautions by wearing gloves and face masks when assisting passengers.

Routine checks to keep everyone safe

Our drivers and office staff undergo daily temperature checks at the start and end of their shifts. We maintain high levels of hygiene through frequent hand washing and by following proper respiratory etiquette.

Practicing social distance

Our drivers and office staff follow strict social distancing at all times. We have limited the number of people travelling in a vehicle at any given time to ensure proper social distancing between drivers and passengers.

We ask you to inform us at the time of your booking if you have any flu-like symptoms.

Please seek immediate medical advice if you feel unwell or contact the National Coronavirus Helpline on 1800 020 080

Partnering with other community organisations
